Education Evenings and Council Meetings
Education Evenings of the Southwestern Ontario chapter are an opportunity to learn a new aspect of the technical communication profession, meet other professionals, and solve problems. They are also an opportunity for you to share your expertise.
Attendance is free for STC members; non-members are asked to pay $20.00. Students pay $10.00 if they show their student ID. Cash or cheques are accepted at the door.
Education Evenings are typically held on the campus of the University of Waterloo, in their spiffy, green-glassed Davis Computer Centre [map] from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. (Doors open at 6:30 for networking). They are intended to be monthly meetings, but sometimes they are replaced by other events that the chapter hosts, such as Awards Night, Education Days (full-day workshops), or the Annual General Meeting. For location details, exact dates and topics, check our calendar page for a schedule and their locations.
Note that the chapter does not host events in July and August.
The Southwestern Ontario STC Council meets every month except in July and August, from 6:30-8:00 pm.
Any member is invited to attend and see the intricate clockwork behind the running of the Southwestern Ontario chapter! And don't be discouraged if you live far away from the tri-city area; you can always participate by telephone and over the web.
