Webinar: Wikis and Knowledge Management

A wiki is easy (and cheap) to set up and can be a great tool for internal collaboration and knowledge management at your company. This talk will present an overview of knowledge management principles everyone who produces information should know about, as well as discuss how to manage your company’s knowledge using a wiki. Knowledge gained from wikis can be used to improve internal processes, build better documentation—and improve customer satisfaction.

The ins and outs/pros and cons of wikis will be discussed, as well as the differences among other widely available and inexpensive KM tools such as SharePoint, blogs, intranets, etc. Wikis can be set up for internal knowledge sharing, or can be opened up to customers to start building a library of best practices. Wiki adoption issues will also be discussed—such as determining and gathering content, standards and logistics, and properly rolling out your wiki so that it becomes a dynamic tool for your company and your customer.
