STC Web Seminar: Technical Communicators in the BPM (Business Process Management) World

The field of business process management, or business process modeling, is becoming more prevalent. A business process analyst must be able to analyze, compare, and simulate existing ("as-is") processes with future ("to-be") processes that helps in identifying areas of improvement for the product, business, or enterprise.

This session shares the experience of a technical communicator's transition to a business process analyst. The presenter will share the similarities between each position, show samples from a business process modeling (BPM) tool for visually documenting business processes, and provide a resource list for use in expanding your BPM awareness.

Presenter

The presenter is Jackie Damrau, who is an STC Fellow and a frequent presenter at STC meetings and annual conferences. She has served as the chair of the Leadership Community Resource committee and the Nominations committee, and is a former member of the STC Nominating committee. Jackie is currently a member of the Lone Star Community, Web program manager for the Instructional Design & Learning SIG, and the general manager of the STC International Summit Awards.
