by emily layng, Recorder/Secretary

Hello again. I’m back with the monthly recap of the November Council meeting. The meeting was held at Peer Group in Kitchener. The amount of construction going on was a bit daunting, and the weather wasn’t the greatest either with rain and very poor visibility.

The meeting started at 6:45, after we had devoured most of the pizza. Peer Group had had a lunch that day, and we had all kinds of sweet treats for dessert. Yum! The treats made it well worth the trip.

Attendees

Those who made it to the meeting were:

Debbie Kerr (President) Opal Gamble (Past President)
Lori Jankowski (Public Relations Manager) Kim Creed (Education Manager)
Carol Lawless (Treasurer) emily layng (Recorder)
Heidi Marr (Student Awards Manager) Ursula McCloy (Employment Manager)
Donald Johnstone (Program Manager)

Education Committee

Kim is all set with speakers, the only thing to settle on now are the rates.

The speakers are:

  • Jim Taylor, Eight Steps to Editing
  • Jane Smith, ABCs of Instructional Design

The dates for the seminar are February 16, (Jim Taylor) and February 17, (Jane Smith) Watch the website for complete details, when they become available.

Wine and Cheese

The date and place are confirmed. The Wine and Cheese will be at the University Club on March 7 at the University of Waterloo. This event is very well attended, and the University Club is a really nice venue. Mark this day on your calendars, and come out for a great evening.

The End

The meeting adjourned at 7:35. Donald took the rest of the pizza home, and gave himself a tummy ache.
