By Opal Gamble, Webmaster & Past President

Attendees: Carol Lawless, Margie Yundt, Fei Min Lorente, Pauline Horn, Paul Kostiuk, Lori Jankowski, Kim Creed, Ursula McCloy, Opal Gamble, Debbie Kerr

Due to wacky Ontario weather, our council meeting was delayed a week to January 24. So, this month, you're stuck with my summary as I try to fill in for emily.

Around a packed table, while passing the pizza, we discussed some very good news about the upcoming Education Seminars: we're ahead of schedule in terms of registration, and the outlook is great. (If you're planning on attending this year, you'd better RSVP quickly!)

There was some discussion about an informal dinner on Thursday night, February 16, with our guest speakers. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Kim Creed.

STC-SOC is wheeling and dealing when it comes to sharing information, arranging all sorts of exchanges with other chapters and even new organizations. Look for new and exciting events in Southwestern Ontario to start popping up in the event calendar.

Student Awards will expand to undergraduate students in all years of their degrees next year, and we will accept submissions from eager students at the University of Western Ontario as well.

The nominations process will start early this year, to allow the incoming president a better chance at attending the STC conference. Stay tuned for the campaign to start in March.

And finally, on a serious note, Margie campaigned for a new council role, Instigator. The competition for this position will be fierce, so call dibs early!
