Eight-Step Editing

Eight-Step Editing breaks the editorial process down into a series of tasks that will improve the readability of the final product. Whether you’re a novice or already a proficient editor, this seminar will help you develop a systematic approach and identify functions you may have been performing only intuitively. If you’re a writer, the Eight-Step process gives you techniques for improving your manuscript before it goes to an editor.

ABCs of Instructional Design

This dynamic workshop provides an introduction to the methods and best practices in instructional design with a focus on designing classroom training.

You’ll learn how designing training is different from writing manuals. As well, you'll learn the basics of instructional design by following a standard process and by practicing what you learn in hands-on exercises.

The 2006 Education Seminars will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, just off Highway 401, central to K-W, Guelph, and a short drive from Toronto and London.

About Lori Jankowski (Public Relations Manager)

Lori stumbled into technical writing while looking for work as a museum curator. She figured that if she could explain Einstein's theory of relativity to fifth graders, she could probably explain technology to adults. (The jury is still out about which is tougher, however.)

This is Lori's fifth year on the STC council, and her first year as public relations manager. She also volunteers for a local theater company (occasionally even appearing on stage!) and is a fledgling gardener, an avid reader, and a passionate cook.
