The Editor's Message

As I write this, the sun is shining, and I am thinking about booking that pedicure, and introducing my painted toes to the light of day once again! (If this frightens you, apologies.)

New horizons ahead

And with the onset of summer, another STC year is winding down. It was a good year, I think, and busy. But I always inevitably start to chastise myself when June creeps up for not doing everything I wanted to do, so is the glass half empty or half full?

You, our members, ultimately decide if we were worth the price of admission, and offered you something new to add to your career collection.

And if we didn't, now is your opportunity to put in your two cents and help us plan next year. Or if the person in the next cube is full of ideas, and you think they would make a good manager of something, or committee member, then why not nominate them or yourself?

Thank you and Goodnight

As I write this I am also pondering my own future on the council, and giving up the reins on a few things. Perhaps it is time to give someone else a turn.

I have made some great friends on the council, and for that I am grateful. It has been an honour and privilege working with everyone. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of energy that is generated by a single "sub"-infused meeting. As members, we are very lucky to have such a dedicated group of individuals working for our best interests each and every year.

I don't know if I am ready to not be a part of that next year, but I may just blend into the background for awhile. Those of you who know me, are probably spitting coffee out your nose by now. Anything is possible, really. :o)

I have enjoyed spending time with all of you, and appreciate you reading the words I, and all of my regular contributors, have scribbled down for every issue. It has been an absolute pleasure being at your service.

You have not seen the last of me yet, but the transformation has begun. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Have a safe and happy summer, and hope to see you at the barbecue in June!
