Click to print this article Third Time's a Charm. Management SIG Starts Up (Again)

by Holly Curtis, Management SIG Co-ordinator

I must be a sucker for punishment. This will be my third time trying to start up a management special interest group within STC's Southwestern Ontario chapter. I've never been a negative person, but it's doomed to fail just because managers in this industry are typically overworked, stressed out and have no "me" time.

Then what better reason to connect with others in the same position?

If you think you might be interested in talking with other managers, this is your chance. I was part of the Management SIG about 5 years ago and even though we only participated in a handful of meetings, the time was very well spent. We sought advice, shared experiences and encouraged one another in a confidential setting.

If we can get enough people interested in this SIG, I'm hoping to schedule some breakfast meetings or audio/web-based conferences. So if you are in a management or team-lead role and are looking for support from others, please send me an email. We'll see if we can't get this thing going!

About Holly Curtis
