The Editor's Message

Hello everyone!

My name is Evan Jones, and I'm the new Quill editor. Before I talk about myself, I'd like to thank Laura Zinn for passing the torch along to me. All the best in the future, Laura!

My background is a bit of a mix, to say the least. I originally started out in technical writing after graduating from the University of Waterloo in 1997 and have learned much from several of the companies I worked for. Then as a result of the timing and my courage, I took it upon myself to explore an entirely different field as an instructor in some of Japan's public schools.

After a long tenure, I decided to return to Canada earlier this year and get back into (technical) writing because I really enjoy it. To be sure, some things have changed, but I've always been known as a quick study.

I look forward to meeting you in the year ahead. It certainly looks to be an exciting time. If you'd like to know more about getting involved, drop me a line at quill@stc-soc.org.

Evan Jones
