The Editor's Message
Hello once again, fellow chapter members, and we hope you enjoy this issue wherever you happen to be spending your summer.
It's hard to believe that another year is drawing to a close and we are about to have a changing of the guard within our council. As several people will move on and several new faces will join in, we have a major change in store for our team. Debbie Kerr, who has been our chapter president for the past five years, will be stepping down from the position to make way for her successor and long-time member Fei Min Lorente. You can read their thoughts as outgoing and incoming president respectively in the top two articles.
As well, we have a recap of the Education Days event we held in May, an article regarding Adobe Air as the future of online help and another informative contribution from an outside chapter about building a successful portfolio.
I'll be returning as the editor for another year and as much as I enjoy providing quality content for the Quill, we're always on the lookout for more articles from you. If you would like to contribute in the future, please contact me at quill@stc-soc.org.

New Southwestern Ontario Chapter Blog
If you are a member of the STC, you should have received some information about the current financial crisis of the Society. The situation is changing rapidly (for a volunteer organization), and to keep you informed in a timely manner, we needed a communication avenue that is more frequent than The Quill, easier to update than the web site, but less intrusive than an email blast. To achieve this end, we've set up a Southwestern Ontario STC blog: http://stc-soc.blogspot.com/. I'll make weekly updates as we head in new directions. Feedback is always welcome.
Fei Min Lorente
Incoming President
